Horse Lease Agreement (Full & Half Lease)

This Horse Lease Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into as of [DATE] between [LESSOR NAME], of [LESSOR ADDRESS] ("Owner" or "Lessor"), the legal owner of the horse described below, and [LESSEE NAME], of [LESSEE ADDRESS] ("Lessee"). This Agreement transfers to the Lessee a temporary, limited right to use the horse. It does not transfer ownership or title, which remain at all times with the Owner.

2. Lease Type

The parties elect one of the following lease types (check one). The elected type governs the use, cost, and scheduling provisions that follow.

• ☐ FULL LEASE — The Lessee has exclusive use of the horse for the entire lease term. No other rider may use the horse without the Lessee's written consent, except the Owner for the limited purposes stated in this Agreement. The Lessee pays the expenses designated as full-lease expenses in Section 5.
• ☐ HALF LEASE (Partial Lease) — The Lessee shares use of the horse with the Owner (or the Owner's designee) on the schedule set in Section 4. The Lessee pays the share of expenses designated as half-lease expenses in Section 5.

3. Lease Term

4. Use and Schedule

FULL LEASE. If the parties elected a full lease, the Lessee has exclusive riding and handling privileges during the term. The Owner retains the right to observe the horse, and to ride or handle the horse solely to evaluate its condition or address a health or safety concern, on reasonable notice to the Lessee.

HALF LEASE. If the parties elected a half lease, use is divided as follows. The Lessee may ride and handle the horse on the following days and times each week:
